It was great to be back in action today at camp. Everyone came back to camp with even more spirit then they left on Tuesday. Camp 3 won the spirit stick and below is a "lil" preview of what it will look like tomorrow thanks to Derek and ALOT of spray paint;)
Ranks were amazing today. Tons of campers are working on ranking up and hoping to do so before our rank up ceremony tomorrow. Good Luck Campers!
This afternoon I had so much fun checking out huddle time, devotion, Kindergarten Rank and Camp 1 rest time.
Huddle time was a blast. This is a time where each huddle gets to spend time together and play games they don't normally get too such as terminator, army dodge-ball, parachute games, Apache (just to name a few). Some huddles use this time to plan the cheers for the next morning assembly. Today, Hannah challenged each camp to learn their own camp cheer as well as come up with another original cheer and share it in morning assembly. From what I saw today, the competition is on and is being taken very seriously. I can not wait to see who takes the spirit stick tomorrow.
I spent devotion time with the FuManchu's and Chin Puffs. They are too precious. The Chin Puffs talked about the importance of seeing the positive in things rather than the negative side of situations and to show this the practiced by balancing the pillow polo sticks on one hand and rather than looking at the bottom of the stick (negative side), if they looked at the top (positive side) they can make it happen and accomplish so much more. The FuManchu's made clay and talked about the bible verse Isaiah 64-8. It was a very hands on lesson and campers loved working with their hands and seeing what kind of creations they can create using their hands, rice and some glitter.
Kindergarten ranks is something new that we have added into camp, where the FuManchus have their own time during afternoon ranks where they can practice working on skills they will need to know before going on to Kindergarten. The CILTS come in each time to help run these centers for our lil ones! Its super cute and they love it!
Camp 1 rest time...all I can say is that I could not resist but to take pictures! Check them out...
All in All, another great day in the books at RSDC week 4.
Can't wait to be back at it tomorrow:)
*Until then, sweet dreams and goodnight*
