Friday the 13th...

Yes, it's the "dreaded" Friday the 13th... but here at Camp Rising Sun, it's actually not that bad.  In fact, it's been an absolutely INCREDIBLE day!  Our kids did a lot of crazy fun things that I couldn't choose just one thing to share with you all.  Here's a little run through this awesome, awesome, AWESOME Friday!

My "second shooter" throughout the day!  This girl is AMAZING!

During morning Ranks, I walked around to see all of the fun going on at camp.  Right when I got out to the Side Hill, I was shocked to find THIS!  Turns out, it was just a CILT being silly with camo!  Our campers love it when CILTs and counselors do unexpected silly things - it's moments like these that make Camp Rising Sun so great!

Out on Central Park, some campers were reliving the fun from Family Night by playing football.  Good thing the weather was nice today so that these campers, along with everyone else, could finally play outside without the rain!

At Front Porch, these boys in Camp 3 took some time to play cards.  Think they're wearing a lot of orange by coincidence?  Think again!  They're celebrating the final day of Spirit Week - Camp Colors Day - by sporting the Camp 3 color!  Love it!

Camp 3 traveled to Camp Outer Limits for the annual Camp 3 Dance.  I remember this dance being one of the highlights of my time as a camper at Rising Sun (I spent all week planning my outfit - a lime green skort, flower tank top, and new sandals - so that I'd be ready for my first slow dance in the Poole Room with Taylor Sword!).  Though the dance has changed a bit, it still serves as a staple event at Camp Rising Sun!

During Afternoon Ranks, Blair worked on some pretty cool stunts in Performing Arts.  As a former cheerleader / former Performing Arts Rank Chief, of course I had to stop by!  The campers have spent the week working on motions and cheers, so today they worked on pyramids.  Look at these superstars!
During snack time, I stopped in the Poole Room to hear the blessing from Camp 1.  Then we had a silly photo shoot.  These kids always know how to make Friday awesome!

Finally, I got to catch up with SUPER campers and their SUPER SILVERS!  In order to get a Super Silver, campers must have four caring (red), respect (yellow), responsibility (green), and honesty (blue) beads and one faith in God (purple) bead.  Ask your camper if they have enough beads to earn a SUPER SILVER!

All in all, it's been another phenomenal week at Camp Rising Sun.  I am so thankful that you all choose to send your kids to hang out with us each and every day.  It truly is a blessing, not only for me, but for all of the staff here at camp.  No matter what is going on, your kids always know how to make us smile.  For that, we are so grateful.  I hope you have the best weekend ever!  See you Monday!

Rising Sun Love,
Megan
