Thank you to everyone who came out last night for our "Where the Wild Things Are" Family Night!
Unfortunately, we had to cancel the actual camp out, but we didn't let the rain ruin our whole night. Instead, we had a wild, crazy, amazing, indoor Family Night! We're glad so many of you could make it!
Campers and their families were able to participate in a bunch of silly activities. My favorite was the dress-up relay race. We put out some of our outfits and accessories, and campers raced to see who could dress up and reach the finish line the fastest. At another station, campers could show off their artistic skills with Creative Arts. We had foam paint that campers could use to make decorations for the table. They could even create their own Pet Rock! There was also a display of sculptures that our campers have been working on all week long. We have some pretty creative campers on our hands!
These boys loved hanging out at Family Night! Check out that face paint! |
Check out this picture from "Man Time" with some campers from Camp 3! They told me that they were up for camping out, even if meant sleeping in Alaska - maybe next time, boys!
While all of these great activities were running, we also had a showing of "Puss in Boots" on the wall of the Shark Tank - talk about a big screen! Campers enjoyed snow cones and popcorn while watching this movie with their families and counselors. I can't think of a better way to kick off the weekend than with a night at the movies with the coolest campers in the world!
Just playing around at Family Night! |
At the end of the night, we said our goodbyes - but not before some of the counselors were treated to a ghost story (you know, traditional camp out stuff) by this camper from the Balbos! It was a pretty intense story... this camper started out as a metal house, but then turned into an apple seed and eventually grew into a vampire-eating ghost! Talk about scary! Now if only we had a campfire, we'd be set for the perfect camp out!
Overall, it was a great night! Thank you again to everyone who was able to attend - we hope you enjoyed the festivities! For those of you who will not be with us next week, we'll miss you and hope you have a super week. For those of you who will be joining us, get excited! We have a GREAT week ahead and are so glad you'll be right there with us for it! If you thought "Where the Wild Things Are" was fun, just imagine how awesome next week's theme will be: CHRISTMAS IN JULY!
Have a great weekend! We'll see you Monday!
Rising Sun Love,
Megan
