A Day Full of WIN

I am constantly blown away by how amazing our campers are at Rising Sun.  From winning the Spirit Stick with great enthusiasm and positive character to being awarded MVP of the Cary Day Camp Soccer Tournament, our kids ROCK!  Here are a few pictures to show you what I mean:

Every day, we award the Spirit Stick to the best huddle in assembly.  The winner is selected based on crazy spirit and signs of respect.  Today, the CILTs showed both of these - plus so much more!  They set such a good example for the other huddles today with their cheerfulness and their full participation in all of assembly.  Congratulations!

Another moment of WIN today came during a camper-counselor challenge in Camp 1.  One camper was selected to battle Abby in a mini-obstacle course race!  All of Camp 1 was cheering the camper on as he sped through the course.  After spinning til they were dizzy, hula hooping five times, and putting on a sombrero, the competitors had to "LARP" battle (Live Action Role Play).  Of course the camper came out on top!

Another big moment of the day:
THE BIGGEST RUBBER BAND BALL I HAVE EVER SEEN!  This camper from Camp 2 brought in her family masterpiece, leaving everyone in awe.  The ball weighs 14 pounds and has been in the making for over a year.  Talk about INCREDIBLE!

Our final win of the day comes from the Cary Day Camp Soccer Tournament.  Our soccer team did a phenomenal job of keeping the energy up throughout all of their games.  They won against High Hopes (2-0) and Camp Outer Limits (2-0), but lost in the final game to Sports Camp United.  All of the kids had a great time!

Coach Patrick (pictured below) said that he was extremely proud of his team and how hard they played.  Their heart and drive truly kept them going throughout their long day of soccer.

Though the whole team played great, Patrick said that one player stuck out.  For his incredible determination, as well as his remarkable skill at defense, this camper was awarded MVP!  Even before Patrick could announce the winner, all of the other campers knew who this trophy belonged to.  Awesome job!

In addition to winning MVP, this camper also won "Camper of the Day" for Camp 3.  This title is given to two campers each day - congratulations boys!  I know it's exciting for them to get to wear the Camp 3 muscle shirts!

Like I said, it was a day full of WIN at Rising Sun.  But let's be real - I think that every day at Rising Sun is a win.  It's been a super Thursday, and I cannot even WAIT for Friday!
Rising Sun Love,
Megan
