Smoothies All Around!
Fitness/Wellness RANK decided to take a yummy spin on teaching campers about nutrition. Our counselors Joe and Jessica whipped up some delicious fresh smoothies for everyone to try. The fruits added to these spectacular creations included bananas, strawberries, blueberries, mangos, and kiwis. Joe taught us that by using orange juice, you can keep your smoothies sweet while still avoiding the use of any added sugar. Also, he informed the campers that each cup of smoothie was equal to one fourth of how much fruit we should aim to eat each day. Hopefully this activity has inspired campers to make healthier snack choices at home. Cheers!
