CILTS stand for Counselors in Leadership Training. This program is designed to help high school campers learn responsibility, and to motivate them to help not only our Rising Sun program but also the community. Each week they complete service projects that benefit our society locally and globally. This week they traveled to Saint Augustine's College where they helped participate in "Healthy Communities Day". Each CILT was there to volunteer their time to help with fitness for the outreach kids of the YMCA, meaning children who attend camp that are classified as "at risk" in our community. Throughout the day CILTS spent their time being cheerleaders alongside each fitness station, including health scanning and activities, in order to encourage the children to continue pursuing the skills correctly. I know they all enjoyed being able to provide some fun for kids that really appreciated it!
