With 20 years of having crazy assemblies in the poole room, there comes a time for a little building inspection. Hubbell recieved a letter from the YMCA's engineer this morning during assembly. The letter informed the camp that about two weeks ago, a team of engineers came to test what kind of damage high sound levels could do to the building. They discovered that any sound levels over 100 decibels could cause the second floor weight room to crumble and collapse onto the poole room due to a small crack in the main pole located in the middle of the room. During Tuesday's assembly, our camp's loud spirit caused the sound level to reach 120 decibels! He suggested that either we stay quite during assembly, or somehow find a way to support the pole. Since Camp Rising Sun obviously can't hold in our energy (it is summer camp!), we had to brainstorm together a way to still be able to safely scream loud enough to lose our voices during assembly. We decided we needed a strong and responsible camper each morning to "hold the pole". Check out our first choice!
Here are some of our amazing costumes from this week's Wacky Wednesday. I met many new friends from around the world, including a few from Mexico and even a professional tour guide!
We are still trying to work on the kinks during Rides Out to make it an easier process for you parents. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help make it a better experience for you at
